જેલમાં બપોરના ભોજન પછી બહારથી આવેલ જુદા જુદા સમાચારો અધિકૃત
રીતે જાહેર કરવાનો કાર્યક્રમ રહેતો. આ કાર્યક્રમમાં દરેક મિસાવાસી અચૂક હાજર
રહી સમાચારો જાણવાની પોતાની જિજ્ઞાસા સંતોષવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરતો. શરૂઆતમાં
ભોજન અંગેની ફરિયાદો અંગે સતત સંઘર્ષ થતો. પાછળથી રાજકીય કેદીઓનાં
રસોડાં અલગ કરવામાં આવ્યાં. તેની વ્યવસ્થા પણ રાજકીય કેદીઓ પોતે જ
સંભાળતા. સાબરમતી જેલમાં રસોડા પ્રમુખ શ્રી જયસિંહરાવ અકોલકરનાં વખાણ
તો આજે પણ લોકો કરતા સંભળાય છે. ભાવનગરમાં મંગળદાસ માહેશ્વરી,
પ્રેમજીભાઈ ચૌહાણ, ઓછાબોલા યુવાન મહેન્દ્ર મશરૂ, રતિભાઈ મસાલાવાળા અને
પ્રભુદાસ રાણિગાએ “ભોજનરસ' બહેલાવ્યો હતો.
જેલમાં રહેતા સૌ ભિન્નભિન્ન વિચારધારાના હોઈ ગરમાગરમ ચર્ચાઓ ગમે
તેટલી તીવ્રતાએ પહોંચે તો પણ ભાઈચારો ગજબનો! સંઘના કાર્યકરોને મુસ્લિમોના
દુશ્મન બનાવવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરતી કોંગ્રેસી રીતરસમોનો ભંડો જેલમાં સંઘ-કાર્યકરોના
તેઓ પ્રત્યેના વ્યવહારથી ફૂટી ગયો. સંઘના કાર્યકરોનો મુસ્લિમ મિત્રો સાથે ભાઈચારો
પણ અદ્દભુત હતો! નમાજ પઢતા હોય ત્યારે પૂર્ણ અદબ જાળવવાની! રમજાન
મહિનામાં સંઘના કાર્યકરો રાત્રે બે વાગ્યે ઊઠીને બધા જ મુસ્લિ મિત્રો માટે રસોઈ
કરતા. વડોદરા જેલમાં શ્રી શંકરસિંહ વાઘેલા wud ઇંસ્લામીના કાર્યકરો પાસેથી
ઉદૂં ભાષા પણ શીખ્યા. જમાતના મિત્રો પણ બધા કાર્યક્રમોમાં સામેલ થતા.

આવે તે રીતે કરવું પડતું હતું. આ માટે અનેક ઉપાયો કરવામાં આવતા. આ બધી
પદ્ધતિઓનો ઉલ્લેખ આજના તબક્કે અસ્થાને છે, પરંતુ અમારી ભૂગર્ભવ્યવસ્થા
