હરિનો મારગ છે શૂરાનો,
નહી કાયરનું કામ જોને!
- જેવા ચેતનવંતા ગીતનાદ સાથે આ સત્યાગ્રહી ટુકડીએ આકાશવાણી પહોંચી
સત્યાગ્રહ કર્યો અને અમદાવાદની બહેનો સ્વેચ્છાએ જેલમાં પહોંચી. ૨૬મીએ સુરતે
પાણી બતાવ્યું. કોર્પોરેશનમાં નવા જ ચૂંટાયેલા શ્રી ચંપકભાઈ સુખડિયાએ ૧૫ બહેનો
સહિત ૩૧ સત્યાગ્રહીઓ સાથે સત્યાગ્રહ કર્યો. સત્યાગ્રહીઓને વિદાય આપવા
ગયેલી વિશાળ જનમેદનીને શ્રી જયંતીભાઈ રેશમવાલા, શ્રી કાશીરામ રાણા, શ્રી
બિપિનભાઈ દેસાઈ, વિદ્યાર્થી આગેવાન સુરેન્દ્ર વાણાવાલા તથા શ્રી મંગળસેન ચોપરા
વગેરેએ સંબોધી.
૧૪ નવેમ્બરથી શરૂ થયેલ સત્યાગ્રહમાં, ૨૬મી નવેમ્બર સુધીમાં તો
સુરતમાંથી ૧૫ મહિલાઓ સહિત ૪૭, વડોદરામાં ૬ મહિલાઓ સહિત ૪૧,
પંચમહાલમાં પ મહિલાઓ સહિત રર, નડિયાદમાં ૫૯ મહિલાઓ સહિત ૮૨,
અમદાવાદ જિલ્લામાં ૧૬, બનાસકાંઠામાં ૪૯, સાબરકાંઠામાં ૧૨, મહેસાણામાં ૧૦
મહિલાઓ સહિત Us, કચ્છમાં ૧૯, જામનગરમાં ૨૧, રાજકોટમાં ૪૮, જૂનાગઢમાં
૪૪, અમરેલીમાં ૧૧, ભાવનગરમાં પ મહિલાઓ સહિત ૩૭ અને સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં
૨૧ સત્યાગ્રહી મળીને ૧૫ જ દિવસમાં we ટુકડીઓમાં ૬૨૩ સત્યાગ્રહીઓએ.
સત્યાગ્રહ કર્યો.
ગુજરાતના વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ પણ સત્યાગ્રહપર્વને આગવી રીતે ઊજવ્યું.
અમદાવાદના ૧૯ વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ પમી ડિસેમ્બરે વીર વિનોદ કિનારીવાલાની ખાંભી
પાસેથી ગુજરાત યુનિવર્સિટીના કૉર્ટ મેમ્બર શ્રી જગદીશ બારોટ તથા શ્રી ભગીરથ
દેસાઈની આગેવાની હેઠળ પ્રતિજ્ઞાવાચન કર્યા બાદ સત્યાગ્રહફૂચ આદરી. સરઘસ
આગળ વધતું જતું હતું. એચ. એ. કૉલેજ, લૉ કૉલેજ તથા જી.એલ.એસ. આર્ટ્સ
કૉલેજના સંયુક્ત ઉપક્રમે કૉલેજિયિન યુવતીઓએ સૌ સત્યાગ્રહી યુવકોને
કુમકુમતિલક કર્યા તથા હારતોરાથી સ્વાગત કર્યું. સત્યાગ્રહીઓનું સરઘસ યુનિ.ના
પટાંગણમાં આવી પહોંચતાં શ્રી ન. ઉ. રાજગુરુ, પ્રા. જે. કે. પટેલ અને શ્રી વિષ્ણુભાઈ
પંડ્યાએ સત્યાગ્રહીઓનું અભિવાદન કરીને શુભાકાંક્ષા પાઠવી હતી. ત્યારબાદ
સત્યાગ્રહીઓએ ધરપકડ વહોરી લીધી હતી. વિદ્યાર્થી સત્યાગ્રહીઓનો કેસ વિદ્યાર્થી
કાર્યકર અને યુવાન ધારાશાસ્ત્રી શ્રી અરૃણ ઓઝા લડ્યા હતા.
