Aa જુલાઈએ સંઘ પર પ્રતિબંધ આવ્યો તેને કારણે અમારા

કંબજામાં લીધાં; આથી હું (લેખક) અને સંઘના પ્રાંતપ્રચારક શ્રી
કેશવરાવ દેશમુખ, શ્રી વસંતભાઈ ગજેન્દ્રગડકરને ત્યાં જ રહેતા
હતા.
વહેલી સવારે ફરવા જવું એ મારો નિત્યક્રમ હોઈ
આંબાવાડી વિસ્તારના પરિમલ ગાર્ડનમાં હું ફરવા માટે જતો.
એ જ સમયે શ્રી પ્રભુદાસ પટવારી (હાલમાં તામિલનાડુના
રાજ્યપાલશ્રી) પણ ત્યાં ફરવા આવતા. મારો તેમની સાથે નિકટ
પરિચય જુલાઈના પ્રથમ સપ્તાહમાં જ થયો હતો. સંઘની ભૂગર્ભ
વ્યવસ્થાને કારણે મારી પાસે દેશના ઘણાખરા સમાચારોની
માહિતી રહેતી. હું નિયમિત રીતે શ્રી પ્રભુદાસભાઈને તેની જાણ
કરતો. હું રા.સ્વ.સંઘનો પ્રચારક છું એ માહિતી પણ તેમને હતી.
જુલાઈના અંતમાં એક દિવસ તેમણે મને તેમના ઘરે
આવવાનું આમંત્રણ આપ્યું. બરોબર ૧૦-૩૦ વાગે હું તેમના
ઘરે પહોંચયો. શ્રી પ્રભુદાસભાઈ મારી રાહ જોતા જ બેઠા હતા.
ઘરમાં પૂર્ણ શાંતિ હતી. તેમણે મને પાસે બોલાવીને એકદમ
ધીરેથી જણાવ્યું કે ૧૦ મિનિટમાં જ શ્રી જ્યોર્જ ફર્નાન્ડિઝ અહીં
