સપ્તાહને “લોકશાહી પુનઃસ્થાપના wes’ તરીકે ઊજવવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. એ મુજબ
ગુજરાતના ગામેગામ એક પ્રતીક સત્યાગ્રહ પણ કરવામાં આવ્યો.

ધ્વજવંદન'ના કાર્યક્રમનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું. મંત્રીમંડળના બધા સભ્યો,
રાજકીય અને સામાજિક આગેવાનો ઉપરાંત હજારોની જનમેદનીએ આ કાર્યક્રમમાં
ઉત્સાહપૂર્વક ભાગ લીધો. સામાન્ય શિરસ્તા પ્રમાણે ૧૫ ઓગસ્ટની પૂર્વસંધ્યાએ
આકાશવાણી પર દરેક રાજ્યના મુખ્યમંત્રીનું વાયુપ્રવચન પ્રસારિત કરવામાં આવતું
હોય છે; પરંતુ આ વખતે ગુજરાતના મુખ્યમંત્રીને સેન્સર કર્યા વગર ભાષણ કરવાની
