२१ नवंबर को गुजरात के युवाओं का एक अनोखा सम्मेलन अहमदाबाद में
आयोजित हुआ | इसमें जेलों से हाल ही में रिहा हुए श्री पीलू मोदी एवं श्री बाबृभाई
पटेल को भी आमंत्रित किया गया था। किंतु २१ नवंबर की सुबह होते ही इस
सम्मेलन पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया गया। इसके आयोजकों ने तुरंत सरकार से एक
कदम आगे बढ़ते हुए प्रतिबंधित क्षेत्र से बाहर बारेजड़ी नामक इलाके में सम्मेलन
करने का निर्णय किया। सम्मेलन में शामिल होने के लिए आनेवाले युवाओं को
पुलिस तक पहुँचने से पहले ही बारेजड़ी पहुँचने की गुप्त सूचना मिल जाती। धीरे-
“ धीरे यह सूचना ऐसी फैली कि सम्मेलन प्रारंभ होने के समय तक पाँच सौ से भी
अधिक युवा बारेजड़ी पहुँच गए थे।
सर्वश्री बाबूभाई, पीलू मोदी तथा के.डी. देसाई भी पुलिस की नजर बचाकर
बारेजड़ी पहुँच गए। वहाँ एकत्र हुए युवाओं में एक अनोखा उत्साह झलक रहा था।
श्री बाबूभाई तथा श्री पीलू मोदी ने युवाओं की सभा को संबोधित किया। युवाओं
के इस सम्मेलन में, संघर्षरत युवाओं का प्रतिनिधि होने के नाते, मेरे द्वारा भेजे गए
संदेश को भी पढ़ा गया तथा सैकड़ों की संख्या में पुलिस की उपस्थिति के बावजूद
संघ के कार्यकर्ता श्री प्रफुल्ल रावल तथा श्री बिपिनभाई शाह ने इस संदेश की
प्रतियाँ उपस्थित युवाओं में वितरित कीं। यह संदेश युवाओं को विद्रोह करने का
आह्वान करता था--
“युवाओ!
*आप भारत माता के लाडले हैं, भावी भारत के आशा-अंकुर हैं | विश्वविजयी
भारत माता की संतानो ! जरा सोचिए कि आज हमें किस ओर धकेला जा रहा है ?
आपका भविष्य क्या होगा ? और इस बात के प्रति इस समय जाग्रत् न हुए तो कल
आपको किसका और किन परिस्थितियों का सामना करना पड़ेगा, यह भी आपको
सोच लेना होगा।
“आप भावी भारत के कर्णधार हैं, क्योंकि आज का युवा आनेवाले कल के
समाज का, इस देश का नेता है''तो फिर आज की समस्याओं का निवारण कर राष्ट्र
को तेजोमय बनाने की जिम्मेदारी किसकी है ? उत्तर स्पष्ट है--आपकी।
“आज छल-छदमों के द्वारा देश को गूँगा बना दिया गया है। कल भी इसी
लाचारी का सामना करना पड़ेगा, किसे ?'*आप ही को ! आज की गरीबी, बेरोजगारी,
अशिक्षा, अनैतिकता, भ्रष्टाचार और पराकाष्ठा को पार कर चुका दमन कल किसे
