स्मरणीय सत्याग्रह पर्व
संघर्ष समिति ने सत्याग्रह के प्रारंभ से पहले उस सत्याग्रह के उद्देश्यों के
बारे में सरकार को सूचित करने का निर्णय लिया। लोक संघर्ष समिति के मंत्री श्री
रवींद्र वर्मा ने इस हेतु ४ नवंबर, १९७५ को श्रीमती गांधी को एक पत्र लिखा। इस
पत्र में उन्होंने समग्र स्थिति का विस्तृत विश्लेषण करते हुए 'लोक संघर्ष समिति"
को सत्याग्रह का रास्ता अपनाने के fee sata करनेवाले कारणों के बारे में
जानकारी दी। उन्होंने लिखा था--
*आपातस्थिति घोषित किए. जाने को आज चार माह हो चुके हैं। हमें
उम्मीद थी कि अंततः सदबुद्धि की जीत होगी और आप अपना निर्णय वापस लेंगी,
किंतु हमारी आशा गलत सिद्ध हुई। आज, जबकि हमारे लिए न्याय के सभी रास्ते
बंद हो चुके हैं तथा आम जनता कष्टसाध्य परिस्थितियों से घिर चुकी है और
आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता उन्हें स्वातंत्रय से वंचित किया जा रहा है, इस स्थिति में राष्ट्रपिता
महात्मा गांधी के जीवन और उपदेशों का अनुसरण ही हमारे लिए एकमात्र मार्ग
बचा है। गांधीजी ने हमें निडर बनने, असत्य और अन्याय के समक्ष न झुकने तथा
दासता को अस्वीकार करने का संदेश दिया है। उन्होंने हमें लोगों के अधिकारों की
रक्षा करने की शिक्षा दी है एवं सत्याग्रह के द्वारा सच्चे समाज के लिए जूझना
सिखाया है। हमारे पास वही एक मार्ग, वही एक शस्त्र है। दिन-प्रतिदिन क्षीण
होकर अधिनायकत्व की ओर झुकती जा रही अपनी स्वतंत्रता को एवं जिस शासन-
तंत्र में छोटे कर्मचारियों तथा दलितों का शोषण कर धनवान, भ्रष्टाचारी व सत्ताधारी
लोग आपस में सत्ता के लाभों की बंदरबाँट के द्वारा सत्ता को हथियाए बैठे हों, उस
व्यवस्था-तंत्र को हम मूक बैठे नहीं देख सकते। अत: लोकतंत्र पर अधिनायक-
