सत्याग्रह के दौरान ही गुजरात में चुनाव आयोजित होने थे, अत: अधिकांश
राजनीतिक दलों के कार्यकर्ताओं का ध्यान चुनाव-प्रचार में लगा था। इन चुनावों
को भी संघर्ष का ही एक हिस्सा मानकर मोरचा द्वारा चुनाव लड़ने का निर्णय लिया
गया। सत्याग्रह का भी चुनावों जितना ही महत्त्व होने से श्री भोगीभाई और श्री
बसंतभाई का सत्याग्रह के लिए विशेष आग्रह था।
सत्याग्रह की जिम्मेदारी का एक बहुत बड़ा हिस्सा संघ के स्वयंसेवकों पर
था। प्रत्येक जिले में निर्धारित कार्यक्रम के अनुसार सत्याग्रहियों के दल पहुँचे,
संघर्ष समिति द्वारा निर्धारित पद्धति के अनुसार ही अहिंसक सत्याग्रह कार्यक्रम हों,
सत्याग्रह के बाद यदि सरकार की ओर से गलत चार्जशीट प्रस्तुत की जाती है तो
उसका प्रत्युत्तर देने के लिए वकीलों की पैनल तैयार रखी जाए इत्यादि मामलों के
बारे में परामर्श करने के लिए संघर्ष समिति के संयोजक श्री भोगीभाई गांधी संघ के
प्रांत प्रचारक श्री केशवरावजी से भी मिले।
शादी तय हो गर्ड है
सत्याग्रह की शुरुआत का दिन तथा उसका स्वरूप और अवधि तय करने
के लिए अक्तूबर के अंत में लोक संघर्ष समिति की भूमिगत बैठक दिल्ली में
आयोजित हुई। बहुत विचार-विमर्श के बाद तय किया गया कि १४ नवंबर से
सत्याग्रह का प्रारंभ किया जाए। इस दिन का स्वातंत्र्योत्तत भारतीय समाज के लिए
विशेष महत्त्व रहा है। लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों के जीवनपर्य॑त पक्षधर रहे पं. नेहरू के
इस जन्म-दिवस से ही उन्हीं की पुत्री श्रीमती गांधी के खिलाफ, उन्हीं मूल्यों के
पुनःस्थापन हेतु इस महाव्यापक सत्याग्रह का प्रारंभ करने का निर्णय लिया गया।
'पूरी सावधानी बरती गई कि इस निर्णय के बारे में जानकारी पहले से ही
सरकार तक न पहुँच पाए, अन्यथा सत्याग्रह से पहले ही सरकार कई कार्यकर्ताओं
को 'मीसा' कानून के तहत पकड़कर जेल में बंद कर सकती है। संघर्ष समिति की
ओर से सभी प्रांत-केंद्रों को सूचना भेज दी गई कि ४ नवंबर को वे एक विशेष
संदेश का इंतजार करें | सत्याग्रह के तय होने के बारे में संकेत वाक्य था, 'शादी तय

इंतजार कर रहा था। सवेरे से जिस संदेश का सभी इंतजार कर रहे थे, वह संदेश देर
