संविधान रक्षा परिषद्
संविधान में मनचाहे ढंग से संशोधन कर उसके मूलभूत ढाँचे को बदल
डालने के कथित रूप से चल रहे प्रयत्नों के खिलाफ नई दिल्ली की बार काउंसिल
द्वारा किए गए सख्त विरोध के अनुसरण के रूप में अहमदाबाद में भी १ जनवरी के
दिन कानूनविदों द्वारा 'संविधान रक्षा परिषद्! का गठन किया गया।
संविधान में किए जानेवाले संशोधनों से मूलभूत नागरिक अधिकारों का
हनन होगा तथा न्यायपालिका के सरकारी अनुभाग मात्र बनकर रह जाने से नागरिकों
के न्यायाधिकार में कटौती होगी, ऐसा स्पष्ट अभिप्राय इस परिषद् में विभिन्न
अग्रगण्य विधि विशेषज्ञों ने व्यक्त किया। इस परिषद् में बार एसोसिएशन के प्रमुख
श्री राम जेठमलानी, 'सिटिजंस फॉर डेमोक्रेसी' के मंत्री श्री तारकुंडे, प्रसिद्ध विधि
विशेषज्ञ श्री शांतिभूषण, श्री चंद्रकांत दरु इत्यादि ने नागरिकों से इस तथाकथित
संविधान संशोधन के मायाजाल के प्रति सतर्क रहने की अपील Ht इस परिषद् में
श्री कृष्णकांत भी उपस्थित रहे थे। परिषद् में पारित एक प्रस्ताव में आपातस्थिति
हटाने के पश्चात् ही स्वतंत्र माहौल में संविधान संशोधन की चर्चा करने पर जोर
दिया गया था।
