देश के कोने-कोने तक पहुँचाने का निश्चय किया। परिणामत: श्री छागला के
वक्तव्य की ' भूगर्भ पत्रिका' की लगभग एक लाख प्रतियाँ देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों
में छापकर वितरित की गईं।
उसी सम्मेलन में अपना अध्यक्षीय वक्तव्य देते हुए श्री जे.सी. शाह ने
कहा, ' ध्येयनिष्ठ व सद्गुणी व्यक्तियों के बजाय अवसरवादी भ्रष्टाचारी राजनेताओं
के हाथ देश कौ बागडोर पड़ जाए तो कैसे खतरे आ खड़े होते हैं, इस बात से
अब हम परिचित हैं। भविष्य में इसके प्रति अब हमें सतर्क रहना चाहिए तथा
जनतंत्र को प्रशासनिक शैली मात्र न मानकर उसे जीवन-शैली के रूप में भी
स्वीकार करना चाहिए।'
सम्मेलन की अप्रतिम सफलता में श्री दरु साहब के अलावा प्रसिद्ध विधिविद्
श्री हरिभाई शाह, कामदार नेता श्री प्रसन्नदास पटवारी, श्री दशरथलाल ठाकुर, श्री
अरुणभाई दिवेटिया, श्री प्रवीणभाई शाह, श्री जयंतीभाई पटेल तथा संघ के कुछ
कार्यकर्ताओं का बड़ा योगदान रहा।

१२ अक्तूबर को नागरिक स्वातंत्र्य परिषद् की समाप्ति के बाद ' गुजरात जनतंत्र
समाज' की ओर से एक सार्वजनिक सभा आयोजित की गई थी । सेंसरशिप के बावजूद
इस सभा के बारे में घर-घर तक सूचना पहुँच गई थी तथा बड़ी संख्या में लोग एकत्र
हुए थे। गुजरात में पहली बार ही राष्ट्रीय नेताओं की यह सार्वजनिक सभा आयोजित
