उअखबारी स्वातंत्रय सम्मेलन
२४ सितंबर, १९७५ के दिन अहमदाबाद के हिमाभाई इंस्टीट्यूट में ' अखबारी
सम्मेलन' के संयोजक श्री विष्णुभाई tear द्वारा एक सम्मेलन आयोजित किया
गया था। पत्रकार श्री प्रह्मादभाई ब्रह्मभटूट की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित इस सम्मेलन
में गुजरात के दैनिक, साप्ताहिक, पाक्षिक व मासिक सामयिकों के संपादकों,
पत्रकारों ने हिस्सा लिया।
सम्मेलन में हुए विचार-विमर्श के दौरान प्री-सेंसशिप के आदेश का
पालन करते हुए भी होनेवाली असुविधाओं के बारे में दुःख व्यक्त किया गया।
सम्मेलन ने अनुचित व मनमाने ढंग से लेखों को सेंसर करने के मुद्दे पर भी
रोष व्यक्त किया।
इस सम्मेलन ने राष्ट्रपति श्री फखरुद्दीन अली अहमद को एक पत्र लिखकर
अखबारी स्वतंत्रता के मूल्यों की रक्षा हेतु प्री-सेंसशशिप के आदेश को निरस्त करने
की माँग की थी। सम्मेलन ने 'अखबारी संकलन समिति' की रचना की। इस
समिति ने छोटे-बड़े अखबारों की उन हालातों में हुई दुर्दशा व उन्हें किस प्रकार की
कठिनाइयों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है, इस बारे में अपने अवलोकन तथा उनके
निवारण हेतु अपने सुझाव दिए थे। इस समिति में श्री विष्णुभाई team, श्री प्रह्नदभाई
waved, श्री कीर्तिदेव देसाई (के.डी.), श्री प्रकाश शाह व श्री देवीप्रसाद रावल ने
अपना योगदान दिया था।
जनता मोरचा सम्मेलन
दस हजार प्रतिनिधियों की उपस्थिति में अहमदाबाद में प्रादेशिक जनता
मोरचा का एक विशाल सम्मेलन १६ नवंबर, १९७५ रविवार के दिन आयोजित
किया गया। श्री डी.के. मजूमदार की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित जनता मोरचा के इस
प्रथम सम्मेलन में श्री नाना साहब गोरे, श्री एस.एम. जोशी, श्री शांतिभूषण तथा श्री
मोहन धारिया जैसे राष्ट्रीय नेताओं ने भी हिस्सा लिया था। सम्मेलन में भूमिगत
क्रार्यकर्ता श्री कर्पू्री ठाकुर की उपस्थिति उनसे परिचित लोगों के लिए विशेष
प्रसन्नता का विषय थी।
एक ओर जहाँ सारा देश एक बड़े कारागृह में तब्दील हो चुका था, वहीं
