अन्य नियंत्रणों से प्रजा के संविधान-प्रदत्त मूलभूत अधिकारों का जो हनन हो रहा
है, उससे “गुजराती साहित्य परिषद्” का यहाँ पोरबंदर में आयोजित अट्ठाईसवाँ
अधिवेशन व्यथित और चिंतित है। अत: यह अधिवेशन सरकार से इन नियंत्रणों को
समाप्त करने का अनुरोध करता है।'
उसी प्रकार 'समुत्कर्ष' नामक संस्था के संयोजक श्री कांतिभाई देसाई ने
*आपातस्थिति के प्रभाव ' विषय पर आपातस्थिति के प्रतिकार में महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका
अदा करनेवाले नेताओं श्री नारायण देसाई व श्री सी.टी. दर द्वारा व्याख्यानों के दो
सफल कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया। इन कार्यक्रमों में अहमदाबाद की जागरूक
जनता ने बढ़-चढ़कर हिस्सा लिया।
३० नवंबर को उपराष्ट्रपति श्री बी.डी. जत्ती के सूरत प्रवास के दौरान
सूरत के नागरिकों ने श्री गोलंदाज, श्री चंपकभाई सुखड़िया तथा विधायक श्री
काशीराम राणा के नेतृत्व में उन्हें एक आवेदन-पत्र देकर आपातस्थिति समाप्त
करने की माँग की।
१८ जनवरी को साबरमती आश्रम में पूज्य रविशंकर महाराज की अध्यक्षता
में आपातस्थिति के प्रतिकार में लगे कार्यकर्ताओं का एक सम्मेलन आयोजित
हुआ। इस सम्मेलन में श्री चंद्रकांत दरु, श्री चुनीभाई वैद्य तथा श्री विष्णुभाई पंड्या
की उपस्थिति में आपातस्थिति का निडरतापूर्वक सामना करने के लिए आह्वान
किया गया।
गुजरात के चिधिवेत्ताओं का सम्मेलन
गुजरात में कुछ कानूनविदों द्वारा आपातस्थिति के समर्थन में कार्यक्रम देने
के असफल प्रयत्न किए गए। तत्पश्चात् २८-२९ फरवरी को अहमदाबाद में
गुजरात भर, के विधिविदों का एक सम्मेलन आयोजित हुआ। इस सम्मेलन में
आपातस्थिति का कड़ा विरोध किया गया तथा लोकतंत्र के पुन:स्थापन की आवश्यकता
पर बल दिया गया, साथ ही अखबारों पर लादी गई सेंसरशिप की कठोर शब्दों में
निंदा की गई थी। शुरू से ही सरकार की स्वेच्छाचारी नीतियों के विरोध में निरंतर
संघर्ष कर रहे निडर सामयिक ' साधना ' व ' भूमिपुत्र ' के अभिवादन का प्रस्ताव युवा
विधिविद् श्री महेंद्र आनंद ने श्री भास्कर तन्ना के सहयोग से सम्मेलन में प्रस्तुत
किया था। कहने की आवश्यकता नहीं है कि यह प्रस्ताव सर्वसम्मति से पारित हुआ
