राष्ट्रव्यापी सत्याग्रह
“केंद्रीय लोक संघर्ष समिति' की ओर से समिति के संयोजक श्री नानाजी
देशमुख ने २५ जून की दिल्ली की ऐतिहासिक सभा में श्रीमती गांधी के त्यागपत्र
की माँग के साथ २९ जून से राष्ट्रव्यापी सत्याग्रह का आह्वान किया। परंतु उसी रात
(२५ जून की रात) समग्र देश मानो एक बड़ी जेल में तब्दील हो गया था।
परिणामतः व्यापक रूप से सामूहिक सत्याग्रह तो संभव न हो सके थे, पर कई प्रांतों
में प्रतीकात्मक रूप से व्यक्तिगत सत्याग्रह नियमित तौर पर होते रहे | अन्य प्रांतों की
तुलना में गुजरात की स्थिति भिन्न थी। “गुजरात लोक संघर्ष समिति' ने सत्याग्रह के
कार्यक्रम को प्रभावी रूप से अमल में लाने का निर्णय किया, जिसके अनुसार १५
से २६ जुलाई तक गुजरात के सभी जिला केंद्रों पर पाँच-पाँच कार्यकर्ताओं के गुट
द्वारा दैनिक रूप से सत्याग्रह करने की योजना बनाई गई।
माहौल में गरमाहट
सत्याग्रह को व्यापक व प्रभावी बनाने के लिए गुजरात में कई सभा-रैलियों
का आयोजन किया गया। इन कार्यक्रमों के अमलीकरण में दक्षिण गुजरात अधिक
सक्रिय रहा।
नवसारी में विद्यार्थी-कार्यकर्ता एकत्र होकर रोजाना गली-मोहल्लों में रैलियों
का आयोजन करते थे। सूरत में ७ जुलाई को युवा मोरचा एवं “लोक संघर्ष समिति"
द्वारा एक विशाल रैली निकाली गई। बारदोली में भी 'लोक संघर्ष समिति' द्वारा ५
जुलाई के दिन एक बड़ी रैली का आयोजन किया गया। इस रैली में आस-पास के
