“We had scrutinised the agenda notes and the minutes of the meeting
of the Cabinet and the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs for three
months prior to the imposition of Emergency and did not find any item
which was related to the declaration of the emergency or the internal
situation which may have warranted a proclamation of Emergency.’

લીરેલીરા ઉડાડી લોકશાહીની નિર્મમ હત્યા કરનાર કોંગ્રેસ એક વાર બંધારણના ૫૦મા
વર્ષે અંગત હિત ખાતર લોકશાહી અને બંધારણના રક્ષકનું મોંઢું પહેરી ૧૦૦ કરોડ
દેશવાસીઓને ભ્રમિત કરવા મેદાને પડી છે.
બંધારણના રક્ષક હોવાનો દાવો કરતી કોંગ્રેસના દેખાડવાના અને ચાવવાના દાંત
કેવા જુદા જુદા છે એ દરેક લોકશાહીપ્રેમી નાગરિકે સમજવાની જરૂરિયાત છે.
જ બંધારણના જન્મના ૧૭ મહિનામાં જ કોંગ્રેસે પ્રથમ બંધારણસુધારો કર્યો હતો.
જ ૧૯૫૪ એપ્રિલમાં કોંગ્રેસ વર્કિંગ કમિટીએ પંડિત નહેરુના વડપણ નીચે બદલાતા
જતા પ્રશ્નોના સંદર્ભે બંધારણનું અધ્યયન કરવા કમિટી બનાવી હતી.
જ ૧૯૭૬મે માસમાં કોંગ્રેસે સ્વર્ણસેંગના વડપણ હેઠળ બંધારણના ‘thoroughly
