इस बार भी संघर्ष के लिए जी-जान लगाकर काम किया था। अत्यधिक श्रम के
कारण चुनाव परिणामों के कुछ ही दिनों बाद वे दिल के दौरे का शिकार हो गए।
इस संग्राम में प्रत्येक परिवार का इतना योगदान था कि इस पुस्तक में उसका पूरा
विवरण देना असंभव है।
अनोखे अनुभव
भूमिगत अवस्था के दौरान कई अनोखे अनुभव भी हुए थे। आपातस्थिति
तथा संघ पर प्रतिबंध की घोषणा होते ही संघ कार्यालय से श्री देशमुखजी को
गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया था। पुलिस ने उत्साहित होकर सभी को वायरलेस से
सूचना देना शुरू कर दिया कि 'नानाजी देशमुख पकड़े गए'; किंतु जब पता चला
कि जिन्हें पकड़ा गया है बे नानाजी देशमुख नहीं, केशवरावजी देशमुख हैं तब
पुलिस को बड़ी निराशा हुई थी।
कार्यकर्ताओं द्वारा किए जानेवाले संदेशों के आदान-प्रदान में कभी-कभी
होनेवाली गड़बड़ी भी परेशानी खड़ी at देती, तो कभी सभी का मनोरंजन करती।
