करवाने के लिए बार-बार कड़ी चेतावनियाँ दी जाती रहीं। “कांग्रेस पत्रिका',

विद्यानगर से प्रा. श्री सुरेशभाई अमीन के संपादकत्व में प्रकाशित होनेवाली पत्रिका
“विचार वलोणुं' पर भी डी.आई.आर. का फंदा डाल दिया गया था। बालासिनोर से
चंपा बहन मोदी के संपादकत्व में प्रकाशित होनेवाली पत्रिका 'लोकवीणा' भी
अनीति के खिलाफ अपनी आवाज बुलंद करती रहती थी।
गुजरात के दैनिक समाचार-पत्र भी सरकार के अनीतिपूर्ण सेंसरशिप आदेश
का शिकार हुए थे। 'संदेश' दैनिक के साथ तो जैसे पूरी शत्रुता निभाई गई थी।

धमकियों की परवाह किए बिना सरकार के जुल्मों के खिलाफ अदालत से न्याय
की याचना की। परिणामस्वरूप सेंसरशिप के आदेश को पुनः एक बार घुटने
टेकने पड़े, प्री-सेंसअशिप के आदेश को रदूद किया गया। इस प्रकार गुजरात के
अखबार लोगों तक सच्चाई पहुँचाने का अपना धर्म हर कीमत पर निभाते रहे थे।
आपातकाल के शुरुआती दिनों में तो कई अखबारों ने अन्याय के विरोध के
प्रतीक के रूप में अपने संपादकीय लेखों को न छापकर उस स्थान को रिक्त ही
रहने दिया था। 'संदेश' ने गांधीजी की तसवीर तथा उनका संदेश--' सबको Saha
दे भगवान्' छापकर श्रीमती गांधी की सरकार को समन्मार्ग अपनाने की सांकेतिक
तरीके से सलाह भी दी थी।
सेंसरशिप की ज्यादती ने अहमदाबाद के 'नवजीवन प्रेस' को भी नहीं
बख्शा था। श्री प्रसन्नदास पटवारी ने सेंसरशिप से संबंधित एक अदालती फैसले
को इस प्रेस में छपवाया था, बस इसी कारण से महात्मा गांधी द्वारा स्थापित इस प्रेस
