पहुँचते ही पुलिस ने छापा मार दिया। हमारे इस भूमिगत संपर्क केंद्र के बारे में
जानकारी पुलिस तक कैसे पहुँची, ग्रह हमारे लिए आश्चर्य की बात थी। हमें इस
बात की भी आशंका थी कि शायद इसी प्रकार से हमारे अन्य महत्त्वपूर्ण ठिकानों व
संपर्क केंद्रों की जानकारी भी सरकार को मिल चुकी होगी। श्री नवीनभाई रँगे हाथों
पकड़े गए। उनके साथ ही श्री परींदु भगत (काकू), श्री गोविंदराव गजेंद्र गडकर
तथा श्री विनोद गजेंद्र गडकर को भी पूछताछ के लिए हिरासत में ले लिया गया।
सभी से कड़ी पूछताछ की गई। पत्रों पर भेजनेवाले का नाम लिखा था--' प्रकाश '।

जानकारी न मिल सके, इस उद्देश्य से करीब एक सप्ताह तक गुजरात के सभी
संपर्कों को रोक लिया गया। इस अवधि में दोबारा एक नई भूमिगत संपर्क व्यवस्था
बना ली गई।
