अहमदाबाद से पवनार तक लगभग छत्तीस घंटों की जोखिमपूर्ण यात्रा कर
इस साहित्य को सकुशल पवनार पहुँचाना था। इसके अलावा पवनार के इस
सम्मेलन की प्रासंगिकता व महत्त्व के बारे में भी कई प्रकार की चर्चाएँ हो रही थीं,
जिसके कारण प्रजा और सरकार दोनों का ही ध्यान उस ओर लगा था। सम्मेलन के
माहौल को अपने अनुकूल बनाने के लिए सरकार की ओर से सक्रिय प्रयतत किए
जा रहे थे, अत: वहाँ स्वाभाविक रूप से सरकारी साधनों की भरमार थी। उन सभी
की आँखें बचाकर यह काम करना था, जिसके लिए साहस के साथ-साथ सतर्कता
भी अत्यंत आवश्यक थी।
काफी सोच-विचार के बाद हम लोगों ने तय किया कि यदि किसी बहन
को यह कार्य सौंपा जाए तो किसी को कोई संदेह न होगा और काम भी आसानी से
'निपट जाएगा। उस पर भी यदि किसी महाराष्ट्रियन बहन की सहायता मिल जाए तो
और सुविधा होगी। हमने तय किया कि अहमदाबाद की तथा संघ परिवार की ही
श्रीमती सुभगा बहन संजीवनभाई देवधर को पवनार भेजा जाए। सुभगा बहन से इस
बारे में बात करने पर बिना किसी हिचकिचाहट के वे इस चुनौती को सहर्ष स्वीकार
करते हुए पवनार जाने के लिए सहमत हो गईं।
सुभगा बहन की सम्मति मिलने के बाद नागपुर के साथ संपर्क कर हमने
उन्हें 'सामान' के साथ आनेवाली आगंतुक की पहचान इत्यादि की जानकारी भेज
दी। सुभगा बहन को नागपुर से पहले स्थित अजनी स्टेशन पर सामान के साथ
उतरने की सूचना दी गई। उनके स्वागत के लिए आनेवाले व्यक्ति को पहचानने के
लिए कोड वर्ड भी उन्हें बता दिया गया। इसके अलावा उन्हें यह भी सूचना दी गई
कि अहमदाबाद से नागपुर तक के मार्ग में सुरक्षा के प्रति वे सतर्क रहें। यात्रा के
दौरान सुभगा बहन को भी पता न चल पाए। इस प्रकार से भिन्न-भिनन कार्यकर्ताओं
द्वारा डिब्बे में सुरक्षा की जाँच करवाते रहने की व्यवस्था भी की गई। जाँच के लिए
डिब्बे में चढ़नेवाले कार्यकर्ता पर किसी को संदेह न हो पाए, इसके लिए कार्यकर्ताओं
द्वारा कई प्रकार की तरकीबें आजमाई गईं। कोई कार्यकर्ता अखबार बेचनेवाले के
