सत्याग्रह की तैयारियाँ
“लोक संघर्ष समिति' के मंत्री पद का दायित्व सँभालनेवाले भूमिगत नेता
श्री नानाजी देशमुख को गिरफ्तार करने में सरकार सफल हो गई थी। श्री नानाजी
की गिरफ्तारी से संघर्ष के कार्यक्रम में कुछ हद तक रुकावट भी पड़ी थी। नानाजी
ने भूमिगत अवस्था के दौरान ही देश भर का भ्रमण कर संघर्ष में लगे लोगों की
शक्ति तथा स्थिति को समझ लिया था। सत्याग्रह की योजना के बारे में भी हर प्रांत
के कार्यकर्ताओं से मिलकर, उनसे विस्तृत चर्चा कर उन्होंने सत्याग्रह की सफलता
के संबंध में आकलन कर लिया था। इतने पूर्वाभ्यास के बाद वे सत्याग्रह को
कार्यरूप दे सकें, इससे पहले ही उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया था।
उन हालात में एक दिन सवेरे-सवेरे ही श्री रवींद्र वर्मा अहमदाबाद आ
पहुँचे। आते ही उन्होंने मेरे निवास-स्थान पर टेलीफोन किया। वे मुझे ' प्रकाश' के
उपनाम से बुलाया करते थे। उन्होंने संघ के प्रांत प्रचारक श्री केशवराव देशमुख से
मिलने की इच्छा प्रकट की। उनके टेलीफोन से प्रतीत हो रहा था कि वे किसी
महत्त्वपूर्ण कार्य के सिलसिले में आए हैं। वे कुछ जल्दी में थे। श्री शंकरसिंह
वाघेला एक घंटे में ही श्री रवींद्र वर्मा को लेकर हमसे मिलने आ पहुँचे।
श्री रवींद्र वर्मा उर्फ 'सुरेश' पहले की तुलना में बहुत बदले-बदले से लग
रहे थे। सामान्यत: प्रसन्नचित्त रहनेवाले श्री वर्मा बहुत गंभीर दिखाई दे रहे थे।
उन्होंने वेश-परिवर्तन भी काफी सावधानीपूर्वक कर रखा था। मुसलिम दाढ़ीवाले

व्यथित भाव से श्री वर्मा ने श्री नानाजी की गिरफ्तारी का समाचार हमें
