संघ के लगभग पैंतीस कार्यकर्ताओं के अलावा प्रदर्शन की रिपोर्टिंग के
लिए आए हुए 'साधना' के संपादक श्री विष्णुभाई पंड्या, जो कि वहाँ उपस्थित
सांसद श्री मावलंकरजी से बातचीत कर रहे थे, को भी पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार कर

केंद्रीय लोक संघर्ष समिति द्वारा डॉ. स्वामी को एक विशेष कार्य सौंपा गया
था। कॉमनवेल्थ के प्रतिनिधियों से मिलकर भारत में लोकतंत्र पर छाए संकट के
बारे में उन्हें जानकारी देने तथा इस बारे में उनके दृष्टिकोण जानने, उनसे विचार-
विमर्श करने का कार्य डॉ. स्वामी को करना था। इस कार्य के लिए डॉ. स्वामी ने
गुजरात को चुना चूँकि डॉ. स्वामी भूमिगत थे, अत: यह कार्य बहुत सावधानीपूर्वक
करना था। इसके अलावा राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ की ओर से ‘RSS. and
Emergency’ विषय पर एक विस्तृत विवरण भी सभी प्रतिनिधियों को देना था।
