अगस्त से अक्तूबर
३ अगस्त को गुजरात के संघर्ष कार्यकर्ताओं की एक बैठक आयोजित की
गई। इस बैठक में आपातस्थिति के बाद की परिस्थितियों एवं विरोध कार्यक्रमों की
सूचना एकत्रित कर आगामी कार्यक्रमों के बारे में सविस्तार आयोजन किया गया।
९ अगस्त-्रांति दिवस
स्वातंत्र्य संग्राम की स्मृतियों से जुड़े ९ अगस्त के दिन अहमदाबाद में श्री
वसंतभाई गजेंद्र गडकर एवं श्री भोगीलाल गांधी के नेतृत्व में आपातकाल के
खिलाफ नारे लगाता हुआ एक विशाल जुलूस आकाशवाणी केंद्र के सामने
आ पहुँचा। वहाँ पहुँचकर जुलूस ने एक बड़ी सभा का रूप ले लिया। संघर्ष
समिति के नेताओं ने अपने भाषणों में स्वातंत्र्य संग्राम की स्मृतियों को दोहराते
हुए इस दूसरे स्वातंत्र्य संग्राम में संपूर्ण योगदान देने के लिए लोगों से अपील
की। उसी समय शिक्षकों की प्रतिकार समिति की ओर से प्रा. श्री बबाभाई
पटेल, श्री कनूभाई जानी एवं श्री के.डी. देसाई इत्यादि के नेतृत्व में स्व. विनोद
किनारीवाला के शहीद-स्मारक से निकली एक और रैली भी आकाशवाणी केंद्र
के पास आ पहुँची।
आकाशवाणी केंद्र के सामने इन दोनों रैलियों के करीब दो हजार की
संख्यावाले जन-समूह के सामने 'जनवाणी ' का पठन किया गया। सेंसर न की गई
पत्रिकाओं का पठन सरकार के आपातकालिक कानूनों के अनुसार दंडनीय कार्य
होने से श्री बसंत गजेंद्र गडकर के नेतृत्ववाले एक सौ एक सत्याग्रहियों को
गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। इन सत्याग्रहियों में श्रीमती सुभद्रा बहन गांधी तथा श्रीमती
