स्वातंत्रय-संग्राम के इस दूसरे पर्व की कथा अनेक स्वरूपों में लेखों के
द्वारा, विशेषांकों के द्वारा या अन्य स्वरूपों में विगत एक वर्ष में लिखी जाती रही है;
किंतु क्रमानुबद्ध स्वरूप में इस प्रतिकार के बारे में पहली इतिहास-कथा पिछले
माह प्रकाशित कर श्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने महत्त्वपूर्ण इतिहास-कर्तव्य निभाने का सराहनीय
कार्य किया है।
प्रतिकार संग्राम में आरंभ से अंत तक भूमिगत रहते हुए सक्रिय रहनेवाले
एक योद्धा ने इस कथा का आलेखन किया है, इसलिए इसमें से बहुत महत्त्वपूर्ण
सामग्री अभ्यर्थियों को अवश्य प्राप्त हो सकती है। आज तक अप्रकट रही बहुत सी
सामग्री का प्रकाशन इसमें है। आरंभ से अंत तक गुजरात ने प्रतिकार का ध्वज
उठाए रखा। इस हकीकत पर प्रत्येक गुजराती गौरव कर सकता है।
निरंतर जागृति और संघर्ष में ही स्वातंत्रय की सुरक्षा निहित है । अत: स्वतंत्रता
को जोखिम में डालनेवाले तत्त्वों को जब तक पूर्णत: समाप्त न कर दिया जाए तब
तक स्वातंत्र्य-संग्राम अविरत जारी रहता है। इस संग्राम में कभी मैदानी लड़ाइयाँ
होती हैं तथा बीच के समय में लोकशिक्षा की प्रवृत्ति की जाती है । इसीलिए स्वातंत्र्य-
संग्राम की इस कथा के विभिन्न अध्यायों का हम निरंतर पारायण करते रहें।
